As an international consultant, Dr. Claudio Cabrejos brings a unique blend of expertise in the planning and implementation of mental health programs. Community outreach includes the provision of direct training of physicians and mental health providers and related staff, as well as media presentations and educational seminars for youth and schools.

– About –

Dr. Claudio Cabrejos received his Medical Degree from the Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos in Lima, Peru. After earning his Masters in Public Health from the University of Miami, he joined the psychiatry residency program at the Tulane University School of Medicine. With the school’s medical anthropology department, he provided mental health services, including psychosocial assessment and treatment, to displaced communities in the Peruvian Andes. Upon completing his residency at Tulane University, Dr. Cabrejos joined an advanced psychiatry residency program at Yale University, where he specialized in Addiction Psychiatry. He is board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and the American Board of Addiction Psychiatry. He is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Psychiatry at the University of California at San Diego School of Medicine and Medical Director of Psychiatry of a system of community clinics in San Diego. Dr. Cabrejos has over 15 years of experience working with various underserved populations including the homeless, HIV/AIDS diagnosis, and Latino communities near the Mexican border. He has a deep understanding and cultural sensitivity for the specific needs of his patients. He has a keen interest in natural and indigenous medicine. Claudio was born to his Peruvian father and Brazilian mother in Lima, Peru. He is fluent in Spanish, Portuguese and English. Claudio enjoys surfing, diving, and camping with his wife and two young children.
